Our people say:
Yoruba: Kò sí ohun tí ńle tí kì í ro.
Eng: There is nothing that gets hard that does not eventually become soft. -Yoruba Proverb.

From a prev. post:
When I read a book, I am privileged to create my own imagery and enter into the world of the characters. I form a relationshop with them - the characters - and we communicate. It is as if I am a part of their story and I become equipped to re-tell it. When I watch a movie, I am subjected to the point-of-view of the director. Good movies are awesome but good books are even better. Go Books!

It's time to read a book.
-Barney and Friends.
I have just opened the first page of the book, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Hopefully, I would fall in love with the author. At the right corner of my blog, I have a list of books I have read this year (2010).
Find yourself a good book today and read.
Bless,
NakedSha.
Books are awesome, you can immerse yourself so deeply more than any other way. Because of that those books read aloud, forgotten what they are called, i cant stand them. Just hearing other people read them aloud takes away from my imagination.
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with Paulo Coelho when I read The Alchemist. I'm gonna take that step and tell you that you WILL fall in love. Just mark my words. Lol.
ReplyDeleteps: lol @ 'almost gorimapa.'

ReplyDeleteI miss following ur blog n Jaycee's! :-(
I guess there is also a movie with the title not sure if they have the same story anyways
ReplyDeleteRe: your proverb, I guess if it stays hard, that na wahala oh.
ReplyDeleteSorry, couldn't resist that! You should know me by now;)
I've actually been thinking of buying some books lately. I should get cracking!
You don't know what gorimapa is o. Lol. Nice photo though. Haven't bought a very good book in a minute. Have to work on that.
ReplyDeletei feel u!
ReplyDeletereading a good book makes u feel like u r in that very environment, a quiet spectator watching how things will turn out. u r so drawn in that it takes u some time to get out of the environment after reading the book. its great!
my job is spoiling all that, all i read are boring law reports, my table's littered with them!
I love that Yoruba Proverb. I mean I have never heard it before now though. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love books! When I read sometimes and the book later becomes a movie it can be upsetting if my imagination doe snot coincide with the directors. Then my image is ruined because the movie version takes over :(
i see we have another chris abani lover and you sure read a lot of karen kingsbury.ill check her out.
ReplyDeleteI think I have read that book before - Not too sure though. I love books too.
